Pan-Screen – a digital platform for early detection of adverse effects in drug development.
During 1983-2007, Animalfree Research supported the development and implementation of a digital platform that allows the prediction of the toxic potential of chemicals and drugs. The platform had successfully established itself among researchers under its original name Virtual Tox Lab, but was technically aging.
We therefore support the technical extension of the platform, which is now called Pan-Screen. In addition, the models for predicting the overall probability of interaction between substances/molecules or the number of biological anti-targets (= relevant biological structures such as receptors to which the substances to be tested should not bind in the organism) are being expanded so that in the future even more chemical compounds can be tested for their chemical safety in drug development without animal testing.
