In den Jahren 1986 und 1987, den Jahren, in denen Animalfree Research die Entwicklung der Software PharmaTutor voll unterst\u00fctzte, war es f\u00fcr Studenten der Medizin, Pharmakologie oder Pharmazie \u00fcblich, Nagetiere f\u00fcr ihre Ausbildung einzusetzen. Das Testen von Verbindungen, die physiologische Parameter wie Blutdruck oder Puls ver\u00e4ndern, half ihnen, die Reaktionen eines Organismus zu verstehen.<\/p>\n

Die Idee der PharmaTutor Software war es, die Anzahl der Tiere (insbesondere M\u00e4use) zu reduzieren, die jedes Jahr zu Demonstrationszwecken an Universit\u00e4ten in Europa eingesetzt werden.<\/p>\n

PharmaTutor ist ein grafikbasiertes interaktives Computerprogramm. Es besteht aus 5 Teilen, die jeweils als eigenst\u00e4ndige praktische Unterrichts\u00fcbung konzipiert sind und in relativ kurzer Zeit (20 bis 25 Min.) absolviert werden k\u00f6nnen:<\/p>\n

1995 pr\u00e4sentierte Daniel Keller ein Nachfolgeprodukt, die Software PharmaSim. PharmaSim (\u00fcber zwei Jahre an der ETH Z\u00fcrich entwickelt) war ein Programm, das die Pharmakokinetik (Wirkstoffspiegel im Plasma) auf der Basis von Kompartmentmodellen simulieren konnte. Animalfree Research verhalf dem Projekt im ersten Jahr mit finanzieller Unterst\u00fctzung zum Durchbruch.<\/p>\n

In Anerkennung seiner Pionierarbeit wurde Daniel Keller mit dem Tierschutzpreis der franz\u00f6sischen Organisation Association de Defense des Animaux de Compagnie ausgezeichnet.<\/p>\n

Die Software PharmaTutor steht heute noch zum Download<\/a> bereit, wurde aber seit 1987 nicht mehr erweitert oder \u00fcberarbeitet.<\/p>\n
